Elkapsling invests heavily in Alby (8 Jan 2019)
Elkapsling has been located in Alby outside Ånge since 1971. The owner, the technology group Lagercrantz Group, is now investing heavily with an investment of around SEK 20 million.
“It confirms that we are successful and worth investing in here in Alby,” says Elkapsling’s CEO Jakob Sandwall.
Elkapsling manufactures cabinets and enclosures for the protection of electrical and electronic equipment. The majority of the products are painted and this takes place in a part of the production that is now getting a long-awaited shake-up.
“We’re investing in a completely new painting line,” says Jakob Sandwall.
As a result of the investment, Elkapsling will increase its production capacity and quality. In addition, the new paint shop is a closed system where most things can be reused and recycled.
“The working environment will be much better for our employees and the job will be both easier and cleaner,” says Jakob Sandwall.
As part of our efficiency work, the investment also includes a twelve-metre-high robot-controlled vertical storage lift, which automatically picks up and delivers parts to the fitters.
“It gives us a state-of-the-art production line and allows us to maintain our competitiveness into the future,” says Jakob Sandwall.
We expect the new paint shop and vertical storage system to be in operation before the summer.
